The purpose of this online seminar is to highlight the contribution of large and industrial heat pumps to Europe’s industrial strategy, specifically to the decarbonization of Europe’s manufacturing sector. Together with our speakers we’ll show the status quo and potential of the available solutions - how heat pumps can help make the industry and its energy circles and processes more robust for reaching climate neutrality by 2050. The benefits of using renewable and reusing waste energy in industrial processes to reduce their energy demand and to organize energy in circular flows will be highlighted, stressing its impact on the competitiveness of European manufacturers. As an introductory reading and for inspiration on the multiple applications of large and industrial heat pumps, EHPA (European Heat Pump Association) has compiled a booklet on industrial heat pumps that is available for download here.

The Valencian industry has been able to demonstrate its capacity for resilience and adaptation during the first phase of the COVID crisis. Based on the important market prospects for solar PV in the next decade, and on the technological leadership of European companies, the European Solar Initiative aims at re-starting (effectively re-shoring) the PV manufacturing industry across the entire value-chain, in Europe, with the objective to capture 20GW of yearly solar capacity additions forecast in Europe towards 2025.
